Labor Day Weekend Performance Fundraiser with Ocean Alliance

Trident Gallery and Ocean Alliance are pairing up for a fundraising Gala in support of the renovation and preservation of the Paint Factory. Music, Dance, Installation, and Visual Art, as well as cocktails and appetizers, alongside the "Parade of Lights" and fireworks as part of the Schooner Festival celebrations. Saturday August 5 11:00am - 3:00pm 245 Washington Street Gloucester, MA Cape Ann Museum's Onsite - Insight @ White-Ellery House In this durational performance, Swift and her company Meek Productions , examine women's social and political power through the lens of the historic White-Ellery house.Using movement, film, and sound, the performers will explore the complexities of labor, value, and respect, as they have been gained, lost, or changed over time.

MAY 24th TRIDENT GALLERY 5PM Junichi Fukuda and Kristen Miller + Sarah Slifer Swift http://tridentgallery.com/ Junichi gets around as a dancer, most recently with Portland Ballet getting his classical on. On the 24th he shows his contemporary choreography. Cellist Kristen Miller has stunning technique and an original modern sound. I am sneaking in for an improv with them because how could I stop myself? JUNE 14th DANCE FOR WORLD COMMUNITY FESTIVAL Sarah Slifer Swift solo http://www.danceforworldcommunity.org/ In the year or so I have been doing research on surveillance, two different performance pieces came of it. One, Insensor , will premiere at Windhover in July (see next entry), but another piece emerged alongside it. This is what I will perform at DFWC. It's interactive and chaotic and I'm looking forward to performing it at this diverse festival. Time of performance will be posted soon.
